Wine Tasting- Chateau Morrisette Blend
Name- Our Dog Blue
Varietal- Blend, predominantly made with Riesling and fortified with Traminette and Vidal Blanc
Region- Floyd, Virginia
Vintage- 2021
Price- 9.99
Tasting Notes- Aroma: Melon, citrus, apricots, flowers. Palate: Sweet, firm acidity. Finish: Soft. Semi-sweet blend of Riesling, Traminette, Vidal Blanc. Serve chilled (Chateau Morrisette)
Wine Folly: As this blend is predominantly Riesling, I'll be taking my notes from that. This is a rather sweet riesling, definitely forward with the melon with a crisp finish. Got hints of peach and green grapes.
Review: Another good wine, I like that this is a local winery too. Some website were saying that this was a desert wine, while the website claimed this was best paired with fish or appetizers. My roommate detected a weird alcohol flavor but that could be due to his plebian taste buds. Either way, I have come to enjoy Rieslings and may even bring my folks to Chateau Morrissette.
