Wine Tastubg- Villa Doluca Klasik

Image
Name : Villa Doluca Klasik Varietal:  Red Blend (Okuzgozu, Shiraz, and Alicante Bouschet) Region : Thrace, Turkey Price: $40 (restaurant price)  Tasting Notes:  Öküzgözü grapes from Eastern Anatolia for its unique aroma and fruity attributes, Alicanté grapes yielding easy to drink wines, with its vivid ruby color and Carignan grapes for its fruity flavors and balanced structure. With its fruity, smooth, and complex characteristics Villa Doluca KLASİK Red invokes the aromas of red fruits and spices. (Doluca) Wine Folly:  Though Wine Folly does not have a dedicated page for Okuzgozu, I found a short blog post that talks about the flavors. This was a very fruit forward wine, I could definitely taste plum, pomegranate, as well as a bit of blackberry. Decent acidity and not as dry as other reds. Thats not at a bad thing though. This was a juicy wine with a smooth finish. Review : My Mom and I went in on this bottle for her birthday dinner. We went to a Turkish restaraunt for it. This wine i

Wine Tasting- Menage a Trois Exotic Bland

Image
Name: Menage a Trois Exotic Blend Varietal: White Blend (Chardonnay, Moscato, and Chenin Blanc) Region: California (Not specified) Price: $9.49 Tasting Notes-  Ménage à Trois Exotic Blend is a trip to the islands. It’s undeniably fruity and unabashedly easy. It’s meant to be quaffed, not analyzed. The Exotic Blend brings together citrus and tropical fruit flavors with crisp acidity. Dare we say it’s refreshing? With food or without, alone or with two companions, this is one of the most exhilarating experiences imaginable. (Menage a Trois) Wine Folly : This bottle leaned heavily toward Chardonnay so I will comparing it to that first. Definitely dry, strong apple flavor, a little pine apple too. White grape as well. Very fruity smell too, quite aromatic. If I want to compare it to Moscato, I definitely get a citrus flavor and pear.  Review: To be honest I only bought this bottle because of the name. I was like "Ha three way thats funny, lemme try it with my roommates". Overal

Wine Tasting- Moonx Cabernet Sauvignon

Image
Name- MOONX Varietal- Cabernet Sauvignon Region- California, not specified Vintage- 2020 Price- 8.99  Tasting Notes-  "This juicy, super dense wine is inspired by the total blackness of a new moon-a lunar phase occurring when the sun, earth and the moon are all aligned. Loaded with intense flavors of blackberries, black cherry and dark chocolate, Moonx is the perfect wine to enjoy with roasted meats, barbeque, chocolate or just by itself." (Label on Bottle) Wine Folly : This was a very fruity cabernet. Really got cherry, red grape, and blackberry. Smelled vert nice as well. Not a lot of tannins, very low acidity. Also not dry at all. I would've enjoyed pairing this with some steak or chocolate as the label suggests. Review: This was an interesting bottle of wine. I would've liked my Cabernet Sauvignon's to be dryer than this, but this bottle has a nice juicy flavor. I would definitely get this bottle again, possibly for a friend who doesn't normally like reds.

Wine Tasting- Dark Horse Sauvignon Blanc

Image
Name- Dark Horse Varietal- Sauvignon Blanc Region- Various California Vineyards Vintage- 2020 Price- $7.99 Tasting Notes-  A deliciously refreshing Sauvignon Blanc offering bright citrus and tropical fruit, with a crisp, juicy finish. Perfect as an aperfitif or paired with grilled fish or pasta. (Total Wine) Wine Folly : This Sauvignon Blanc was weird. It was not nearly as dry as I would've expected, and had a very strong green apple flavor. Very aromatic as well. Other flavors like melon and peach were noted. Review: This bottle was to tie me over on a late night of studying. Ran to the Shell station and grabbed this. I was not a fan. This Sauv Blanc tasted like nothing. It was very sweet for a sauvignon blanc and was overall bland. Very easy on the palate, but it almost reminded me of green grape juice. The Lacroix of wines. Would not recommend.
