Wine Tasting- Finca Sobreño Tempranillo

Image
Name-  Finca Sobreño Varietal- Tempranillo Region- Toro, Spain Year- 2018 Price- 15.95 Tasting Notes:  The wine boasts a deep-red cherry color with purple tones at the edges and offers intense aromas of black berries with toasted nuances from the oak. Balsamic and spicy underscore. It is powerful and flavorful on the palate with very fine and ripe tannins. A long and persistent aftertaste. (finewine) Wine Folly : Nice ruby color as described online. Definitely hints of cherry and black berry but I struggled to detect some of the more complex flavors.                                                                                  Review: I really liked this wine! It had a very distinct spiced                                                                                      smell and flavor. Dry flavor but very tasty. I would definitely                                                                                      pick up this bottle again. It's unique and would probably

Tasting- Santa Julia Chardonnay

Image
Name- Santa Julia  Varietal-  Chardonnay Region- Mendoza, Argentina Year- 2021 Price- 9.99 Winery Review:  A pale yellow color with green hues. Elegant aromas of tropical fruits: green apple, pear, banana, pineapple, with honey and a hint of citrus. This dry, medium-bodied wine is well balanced with a pleasant, long-lasting finish. (Universal Fine Wine and Spirits) Wine Folly : Definitely had the color of a pale Chardonnay. Rather acidic flavor, definitely got hints of apple. Wine folly says it should taste like yellow apple but I was getting more of green apple flavor. Many of the secondary and tertiary flavors                                                                                    listed online were not as pronounced. Review: A decent wine. This was found in the "Everyday South   America" section of The Cellar Vintage. Definitely acidic, I got the accents sour apple and citrus. I got somewhat of a liquor-y after taste. There are certainly better Chardonnay'

Intro to Boozin'

Let me be honest; my knowledge of wine is very surface level. Until now, consuming wine has been a rather unproductive process for me. My first sip of wine was most likely a champagne given to me by my grandmother on a festive New Years eve. When I was 16, I traveled with my family to Venice Italy where I purchased a Venetian Spritz; a wine cocktail made out of orange liqueur, prosecco, and bitters. That drink...that moment... was formative for my future of alcohol consumption. After consuming several glasses of the bitter beverage, I stumbled with brother to a Gondola, an American tourist shambling around canals. That moment would change my life FOREVER! I am exaggerating tremendously here. It was a fun time, if anything, I had more fun just getting buzzed around my family. Still, wine has been a mainstay in my family. My mother specifically loves wine, reds are her favorite. Cabernet Sauvignon's are probably my favorite as that is also the kind I have had the most experience with
